Veterans Issues
As young men and women, many of us left our homes with the ingrained hope of serving our Country.
Young people with no real idea of what it meant to give everything, feeling immortal and indestructible.
Expecting to see death, but never expecting to be the one who died.
This will likely never change. What changes is the reasons that young men and women die to serve their country.
The reasons behind the wars.
Some of us became convinced that our country was the ultimate right and that the only thing that matters is what we believe in.
Others became disillusioned, faced with lies and untruths, broken promises.
Promises of good medical benefits in the future and the best that can be provided any where.
When we were young and did not need these benefits, they meant little to us.
Unfortunately when we did need them, we found that they far too often simply do not exist.
I have heard many horror stories from Veterans over the last thirty five years.
Many that went beyond neglect to deliberate abuse.
Through it all Veterans continue on and fight the good fight. Only now the fight is more often for the benefits that they deserve than a battle on some nameless battleground.
One of the greatest problems that we share, is the lack of a common ground place to discuss the issues that we face and the means to address these issues.
Veterans Issue is for Veterans. It is owned and operated by Veterans. It is a non political site, meaning it is not an organizational site belonging to one of the many organizations that are supposed to be standing up for Veterans rights.
If there are issues that you wish to discuss please feel free to do so.
The use of this site is restricted to the use of Veterans and their families.
